Coordination

I saw a an old couple on the subway this monrning, discussing when to get up to get off the train. The woman was rushing the man to get up, he said they had three minutes. By the time they started to try to get up, I thought it was going to be too late. It took them a few seconds to get off the seat and then rushed off towards the door. The door was about to open, and they stay open only for a few seconds.

There is no way they are gonna make it, I thought. Even if the man did. The woman would surely get stuck behind. I was right and wrong. By the time the man reached the door, they were closing. To my surprize, he kept on moving to the next set of doors. And the lady went to the door he left behind. Turns out, they were preparing to get off at the next stop.

They were absolutely adorable.
